[Sholmes is leaning against the counter in the hotel, puffing away on his pipe. Irene, in hare form, is lounging on the counter, though her ears are twitching slightly.]
[Sholmes is walking along, papers in hand as he investigates the streets...and then pokes out his head from behind a building when he sees a familiar face.]
Ah, Miss Susato! A most exciting place we have on our hands, don't we?
[There are shards on the ground nearby, out of the corner of his eye. Ah, well. Maybe he'll just make sure to go around them. No need to worry.]
[He's just sitting against a wall, eyes closed pensively - he's got an ice pack to his head. Irene, nearby, seeing Susato, lets out a squawk, which makes him lift his head to blearily look at her.]
Ah, Miss Susato. You really shouldn't see a great detective in such a state.
[In the markets, there's certainly a numerous amount of wares. The clothes are especially nice, and whenever Susato is browsing through them, somebody grabs a scarf from the nearest booth to drape around her shoulders. Sholmes beams.]
[She's out here in the market in her sunhat wearing a blouse and belted trousers that's much cooler than her usual attire. She will take the scarf and try wrapping it around her shoulders.]
I suppose to keep the sun off one's shoulders? I do like the pattern - I feel as though one ought to dress in the local styles.
[She's been carried off to House 3, and is sitting in bed with Ryutaro, in hare form, in her lap. She looks very tired and a little distant, but she'll look up when he comes in.]
[She's been wandering, too. But when he comes upon her, she's balancing herself against the side of an outpost. She turns around, her fists clenched, digging her nails into her hand. From her expression, it looks like she's trying not to catch her breath, or stop from being ill.
In the aftermath of Rin and Yukio, she seems to have slightly forgotten that messy fight; it takes her a moment to realize what he means.]
Don't be sorry. I can deal with that easily enough. [She pauses for a moment.] But I need . . . I don't . . . [She's struggling to find the words.]
[Anyway, they can talk after the mini-event is done. She's clearly walking a little more gingerly than she has been; whatever was left over from what happened to her on Thursday had been mostly healed. And she isn't particularly skilled at makeup, nor does she wear it, so it's not that hard to tell that she's covered up a fresh black eye.
It's probably fine?]
. . . I've been reviewing the Lieutenant's notes, but did you also receive a note this morning? Quite curious, don't you agree?
[She will come looking for him after the town hall, wherever he is. She's a little awkward somehow, and Ryutaro is perched on her shoulder, nose twitching and ears flat against his head.]
[Now here's a decision. He sees her in the distance, and...should he? Should he not? But might as well. After everything, that horrible disaster...he might as well.]
[Better say it now, instead of never.]
[He approaches her, tone level, and gives her a polite bow. Irene in crow form also bows her head.]
My dear lady. If you would like, I will leave you be. But I have come to apologize for my words earlier. May you hear what I have to say?
[Susato is walking, Ryutaro hoping by her side. She's petting him quietly. She looks up when she sees Sholmes, her expression a little hard to read, but - ]
[Gift shop it is! Susato has come in here to stock up on more notebook paper, but she's gotten distracted looking at some of the items in here. They have keychains with names on them, but rudely enough there appears to be no Ryunosuke keychain.]
[He's sitting on a rock near the body of water, looking out on the dreary landscape. Irene, in crow form, is preening her feathers at his shoulders - his neck and upper body is splattered with blood.]
[He glances over at the familiar voice, blinking with some surprise.]
Miss Susato...? [A beat.] Xie Lian, is he alright?

Ah, hello. [And a nod of the head.] No sign of them, I assume?

[She sighs, walking over to join him. Ryutaro by her side is in deer form.]

[She will give him a smile - for whatever reason, she feels unusually anxious this morning, but otherwise this new location seems alright.]
Have you explored much just yet? [Oh, look at those on the ground. She glances down at them.] I'm curious why these things are all strewn about. . .
