[Kim is about to pass by her in the lobby, and stops.]
Miss Susato. [A pause. He's started calling her that, after hearing mostly everyone else use it.] Once again... good work today. Your interrogation technique was especially impressive.
[Kim's left the castle and is about to start patrolling, when he sees Susato's outside and nearby. He already told her he intends to look around for the missing people, so...]
I had a feeling you weren't going to stay inside today. Would you like to come? I could use a second pair of eyes.
[Susato can be found after execution on her own in the solar, piecing through some old books. Ryutaro, in hare form, is curled up at her side. She will glance up when someone comes in the door, wiping at her face.]
[Somewhere in town, Kim's examining the shattered remains of a window. He touches a shard, not realizing someone else is nearby.
In an instant, both he and Susato will have their ears assaulted with a terrible noise, one that even drowns out the peculiar background music, as they experience an especially terrible memory.]
[Well. She can't help but let out a scream when she witnesses what the woman in this memory does. She covers her mouth as the memory fades, wide eyed.]
[After trial, Susato can be found out by the docks to the canals near the mansion, sitting and peering out into the water. She looks to be in an angry mood, fists clenched, but trying to calm herself.]
[Well, she will approach Kim at some point on Wednesday. She will give him this in note form, I'm just not writing up another Google Doc:
Power - Bruises and mild injuries, consistent with her abduction the prior Thursday.
Susato Mikotoba - No particular marks or injuries identified.
Sheba - Fresh bruises on forearms and sides attributed to a fight with Alphinaud during Wednesday tasks. Alphinaud confirmed.
A-Qing - Minor scratches and bruises of the sort she typically sports.
Nanaly Fletcher - No particular marks or injuries identified.
Rika Furude - No particular marks or injuries identified.
Scheherazade - No particular marks or injuries identified.
Monika - No particular marks or injuries; an old scar she has sported each week.
Reze - Bandaged left shoulder; claims it was from a monster during Wednesday tasks, the same that also clawed Spike. No confirmation and the wound was not examined.
Alisaie Leveilleur - Minor bruises, scrapes, and scratches, bandage on her torso beneath pectoral muscles. Claimed she injured herself while alone on Friday testing a new ability from the Watchers. Mr. Walker claimed he sensed the injury when it occurred due to their tether. Alphinaud claimed he saw her first thing Friday morning and he was uninjured.
N.B. - I questioned Alisaie regarding Alphinaud's rather curious testimony; given the location of the injury it seemed difficult to understand how he could have known she was not injured beneath her clothing. Alisaie's response was that when she received the injury on Friday, her dress was torn, and Alphinaud had meant it had not been torn when she woke.
Yelena Belova - Three stab wounds, stitched up. I believe attributable to her experience being abducted on a Thursday but unfortunately there was no follow up.
She will watch him as he reads all of this.]
. . . As you can see, there are several curious entries. I regret that this examination may have been conducted rather haphazardly. I intended to ensure it was improved upon in the coming weeks, but on this past Saturday I was unable to assist.
[Another hesitation.]
I initially found Alisaie's injury the most curious, particularly given her subsequent behavior. Neither of her witnesses were present when she was injured; it would be possible to tear a dress and injure oneself over an old injury and receive the same result.
However . . . following my subsequent conversation with her, I was satisfied I could accept her explanation. I do not expect you to share my satisfaction, but there is a reason I chose not to share these notes with everyone present in that conversation. It is my opinion that . . . if Lord van Zieks, or Mr. Sholmes, or anyone else should want a complete set of notes, they ought to bother taking some themselves.
But I know that you will be circumspect, and that there is much to be gained if you and I can trade observations with one another, so I see no issue giving the complete set to you.
[Susato will come find Kim sometime on Sunday! She's carrying her notebook, and Ryutaro is sitting on her head; both her nose and the hare's noses twitch curiously in tandem.]
Lieutenant, I wanted to share my trial notes with you once again, in case they are helpful to you.
