We will have an evening of confections and conversation, and guests may stay the night if they so desire. We will meet on Tuesday evening, after sundown, at the second household. Susato and Sheba have set up for the party. There is some food for dinner - mostly snacks and finger food from the market, as well as some desserts, and a small helping of chocolates - and some tea.]

[Downstairs in the living room, there is a pile of clothes borrowed from various worlds - 90s outfits from Cittagazze, Elizabethan style dress from Krankaz, and Victorian dress from Otamo. There is also some makeup and nail polish bought from the markets in town.

[At some point in the night, everyone can gather in the living room with desserts and tea.]

We thought we might all go around and tell stories. Everyone who wishes to participate can tell a story - truth or fiction. And we shall decide whose was the most charming, the most thrilling, and the scariest.

There was a time, long ago, in the land of Damascus, a great prince, and one day he was discussing a grand many things with other kings and sultans, when a man, a treasure seeker named Talib, relayed a tale that was told to him by his father:

A man embarked on a voyage by ship to Sicily, until a wind rose and bore them away to an unknown land with unknown people. The unknown men came forth, but did not know Arabic, but they had their own king who did. When he saw the ship, he came to the crew and welcomed them and invited them to a feast. And after this, the men of the ship went into the city to see the fishermen drawing up their net, and within lie a brass bottle with a top of lead, sealed with the sign of Solomon. A fisherman broke the seal and at once, a blue smoke poured forth and took the shape of a Jinn before it disappeared into the heavens.

This prince listening to the story, taken by this ability of Solomon's, wondered if he really could do such a thing. A general at the party insisted that Talib told the truth, and that the lord Solomon really did catch Jinn and seal them into bottles and cast them into the sea! The prince insisted that he see one for himself, and told Talib to send a message to a man named Musa, who was a viceroy of Egypt. Musa was to leave his son in charge and journey forth with Talib so that they could find the bottles of Solomon.

Talib spent many days and many nights, with companions paid for by the prince, to the distant province wherein Musa resided, so the message could be delivered personally, and they could set off on their quest. Upon deliverance of the letter Musa said, they must get together a great group of men to take on the arduous journey, totaling in two years and some months to complete. So they brought the old Sheik who had been to such distant lands before, with knowledge of the vast wastes and deserts beyond the borders of the province, and they set upon their journey at last.

After two months of travelling, the men discovered an opulent palace, yet it held no occupants. Upon its doors inlaid were tablets describing the previous lives of previous rulers, and no matter how much wealth they acquired, they all were met with the Destroyer of Delights - the one thing that will come for us all, regardless of status. Musa is so overcome with emotion at these inscriptions that he weeps, barely able to complete his transcriptions. Further still inside the palace lay a tomb, bearing the grandest inscription of all, of the wealthy, powerful king who lay within. Musa is no longer able to contain himself, and they leave the palace behind.

Several days later, the group comes upon a hill, which a horseman statue sits, made of brass. It bears instructions to stroke its hand, and it will show the way to the City of Brass. They follow the instructions, and the statue whirls suddenly, and when it comes to rest, its hand pointing to a lonely, barren path. They fared on for days and nights, until they came to a brass pillar, which sat an ifrit named Dahish. He was trapped in the pillar as a punishment from Solomon, and Dahish tells the travelers a long tale of his war against the lord Solomon and how he became bound to the pillar. The group is amazed by his tale, except for the Sheik, who asks how they get to the City of Brass. The demon points, and the group is on their way yet again.

This time, they fared on without ceasing until at last, they reached the City of Brass. The searched for the gate to the city, but found none, and sent a scout around the walls of the city, and lo, it took him two full days to round the walls, and on the third day, he came upon sight of his companions! Musa and Talib took to a nearby hill which ascended up higher than the walls of the city, and looked down upon it, only to find that the city beheld the most beautiful glittering palaces and extravagant orchards and springs. There was not a single sound, not a single movement inside the city walls. Afar lay more inscribed tablets like the ones in the abandoned palace, laying clear warnings and admonishment to those who would breach the city walls.

The men decided to build a ladder to scale the wall.

[Anyway this is a top level to talk to Susato and also for outfits. She is wearing like a very fussy nightgown and has her hair down for once, with just the front part loosely tied back in a ribbon.]

[ slowly, satariel pokes their hooded head in. while the watchers received an invitation, it's a little bit hesitant, as if to make sure, before they come in - tadaaaa. they arrive fully dressed in their usual, to start, sans the undercloak, but also...

with a lot of pastries and sweets in a basket on their arm, their daemon a raven on their head. materializing from under their skirts is... a siamese cat! it prrps as it weaves out, a little bit cross-eyed, and goes to immediately greet everyone because there are so! many! hands! for pets! ]

I brought more food. No slumber party complete without more food - and it'll be good for breakfast, too.

[ Well, if an invitation asks her to bring food, Nanaly's bringing food. So she's whipped up something simple out of some cheap ingredients over at her place next door and brought over a big plate of them. ]

Careful, they're pretty spicy if you're not expecting it.
