Ah. Well, you see, I was preparing a care package to send to Sheba, since it seems as though they are short on necessities wherever they are. But then it occurred to me that Lord van Zieks will wish to have wine, and then it occurred to me that others there may have the same desire to imbibe.
Please let me help. I'd like to send Sheba a few things myself... And we can absolutely see about procuring enough libations for the group there if they've been left so lacking. I don't mind grabbing these if you give me a list.
Such conservative practices... [ sighs deeply ] how annoying.
I was looking at their menu . . . I'm afraid I know very little of what our friends might drink, but certainly some very fine wines. Father drinks whiskey and cognac, so I had thought that might do, along with some cider. And of course, akvavit is quite a traditional beverage local to the region. It is rather hard to come by outside the Nordic countries, so perhaps some of our friends are raring to give it a try.
What would you like to send to Sheba? I sent a variety of foods to be shared about, but surely a special message from you would be most pleasing.
I'd like to send her some coin or something she could trade off if I can as well. Some of her belongings if we can get them to her? Anything that could be useful or comforting to her... she...
[ he frowns a moment and blinks the thought away. instead he pulls out a small notebook from his back pocket and a pencil, beginning to write. ]
As for the menu... Wine is a staple most would enjoy, I think, so perhaps a red and a white would work, a sweet one, then a more mature one. I don't know if sparkling will hold once we send it through, but it could be a nice surprise. A sharp spirit is always good to take the edge off a long day, so whiskey is a must. Cider is mild, but very refreshing, and would be good for those who have a more delicate palette so you've already done well to select a variety of choices. [ he smiles at her, a proud nod! ] Akvavit sounds fascinating. I'll give it a try myself... and that would be a thoughtful addition.
[ he snaps the book shut ] I was raised on a winery, so I've a good mind for these things. I'll make sure to pick the best of the best for our friends afar... And perhaps a non-alcoholic option as well, for fun. I'm sure they'd like some coffee as well? If anything, they could trade it too.
Mm! I have included coffee, and tea leaves, and chocolates. As for trade. . . I didn't take any of Sheba's belongings save the fingerprint kit. I ought to have stocked up in Camebit on gold . . .
[Anyway, she listens to him discuss the booze.]
Were you really? Then you must have quite a palate.
I'm discerning, I like a good drink. I know Van Zieks was also fond so I'll see to getting something up to his discerning standards.
[ he rubs the back of his neck with a chuckle. ]
And there's a gift shop here too. If we're careful and not too greedy about it, I'm sure we can send them some warm clothes too and some trinkets they can keep or trade away as they see fit too. It's the least we can do from this side.
It is delightful! There are several different varieties of chocolate, ranging in flavour from bitter dark chocolate to milky smoothness and in texture from hard shell to soft mousse!
I have always adored sweets, but chocolate in particular - it is quite costly in London, and exorbitant in my native Japan, so I have only had it on rare occasions.
Then we'll just have to make the most if it during our stay here. And potentially grab some for the road as well.
[ he'll straighten up and glance over at the bar. ]
I'm going to grab a few of the bottles in an hour or so, then return for some more later, so that we don't garner too much ire for taking too much at once. I can have them to you by tonight?

[Hmm. She glances at him.]
Mr. Alberich, I could not ask you to break the law. . . but perhaps . . .

[ polaris is betraying his semi-stern look, tail wagging even as a little creacher ]
I assume you have good reason, you usually do. [ she's sensible! ]

[This does not mean you have to buy top shelf liquor and expensive chocolatey desserts.]
Have you tried the chocolate symphony yet? You simply must. I am sending one of that to Sheba, as well.

[ like sending chocolate and booze to our dead friends. dead people deserve nice things too. ]
Give me your review of this chocolate symphony. It sounds decadent?

[ it does sound good. ] I don't have much of one so you don't mind sharing it with me, do you? I'd hate for it to go to waste.

But I would be very pleased to share with you.
